Re: Images in PDF scales and occupy full width of the page
Hi I am working with Manoj on the XML side of this. To add some detail, the issue where images are stretched to 100% is only happening in cases where there is a <fig> tag with a <title> tag. So, images are stretched to 100% with XML coded this way... <fig> <title>Sample Image Title</title> <image hr...

Re: WebHelp Search does not find any non-letter characters
Thanks Sorin. This is helpful. - If you can add support for parentenses, brackets and braces ()[]{}, etc -- or at least the error message I mentioned for those characters -- that would be great. - I have asked this before, but maybe it has been added: Is there a Release Notes document somewhere that...

Re: WebHelp Search does not find any non-letter characters
Hi Sorin. Thank you for your response. It would be good if at least there were a helpful message that told users why their search string isn't found -- something like, "You're search string includes non-alphanumeric characters, which are not supported by this search tool. Please try your search...

Re: WebHelp Search does not find any non-letter characters
For clarity, it should be "non-alphanumeric characters". It can find numbers, as well as letters. Just not spaces, punctuation, or special characters.

WebHelp Search does not find any non-letter characters
Hi. I noticed the following topic related to searching angle brackets: http://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/topic9878.html I wanted to add that we have had a number of queries from our users regarding searching character strings that contain non-letter characters. This is most common with strings of code ...

Re: PDFs Not Launching Correctly from WebHelp
And to follow up from my previous post regarding URLs, it was also noticed that similar behavior happens with external files that are not meant to display in the Help, such as downloadable Zip files. This is a common scenario in our documentation. Test Scenario for Download Files: 1. Open the sample...

Re: PDFs Not Launching Correctly from WebHelp
unfortunately I cannot reproduce the problem by testing your example in all of the above-mentioned three browsers. Do the PDFs open in a new tab by default in WebHelp generated from Oxygen Author 14.2, as they do in frames WebHelp? As I've mentioned, this is an essential part of the issue, but your...

Re: PDFs Not Launching Correctly from WebHelp
Hi Sorin. Our testing has shown that browsers and even browser sessions do not show consistent with the behavior on this issue, so I understand it may be difficult to reproduce reliably. I have created a video to demonstrate our observed behavior in Mac and Windows in Safari, IE, and Chrome. I have ...

Re: Tracking in WebHelp TOC
Hi Sorin.
I'm not sure what you mean by the Content panel. I sent a video to the Oxygen Support email with a detailed description of our issue, but I haven't heard a response. Will the issue in that video be addressed?
Thanks,
Michaei

Re: PDFs Not Launching Correctly from WebHelp
HI Sorin. This does not appear to be an issue with the DITA-OT. The Frames-based WebHelp output still works as expected when generated from Author 14.2. See Test Case 4 below. Also, I tried the changes you suggested: Change scope="local" and format="pdf". Changing the scope seems...

PDFs Not Launching Correctly from WebHelp
Hi. As I mentioned in previous threads, we recently upgraded from Oxygen Author 13.2 to 14.2, and have experienced some issues with the new WebHelp format that are affecting our users. The latest is related to opening PDFs from hyperlinks in WebHelp. They are not opening in a new tab, or they are no...

Thank you,
Michael

Re: Tracking in WebHelp TOC
Hi Sorin. Your suggestion regarding tocWDiv.js resolves one part of the issue: It doesn't make the TOC item bold anymore. However, the more important issue I'm trying to resolve is not fixed: The TOC "jumps" to the first instance of the topic in the TOC. The observed result after the fix i...

Re: Tracking in WebHelp TOC
Hi Sorin. The issue is backward compatibility. We should not need to make major changes to our source files or document design because you add a new feature to your product. There should be a way to disable it or make it optional. Is there a way to disable the JavaScript that tracks/highlights the f...

Expand/Collapse All Button on WebHelp TOC Not Working On Mac OSX
Hi. The Epand All [+] and Collapse All [-] buttons on the WebHelp TOC does not appear to be working as expected on Mac OSX. Tracking in WebHelp TOC
Hi. I recently upgraded from Oxygen Author 13.2 to 14.2, and there appears to be a new feature in WebHelp TOC where, when the user clicks a link, the TOC opens to that topic. This is fine when all topics in the ditamap are unique. However, when there are multiple instances of a topic in the ditamap,...

Multiple instances of a topic in WebHelp output?
Hi. I have a use case that I am looking for a solution, but I do not know if it is possible in Oxygen Author. This is regarding WebHelp output in Author. By default, if I reference the same topic (e.g. topic.xml) multiple times in a Ditamap, and then create WebHelp output, one instance of the output...

Topic IDs in conref's in Author 13.2
Hi. It looks like you have made a change in Oxygen Author 13.2: It is now enforcing the rule that XPaths in the conref attribute use the topic ID. For example: conref="topic.xml# topicid/elementid " This follows the DITA specification. However, previously Oxygen Author supported using just...
