Re: author window requires horizontal and vertical scrolling

Sorry, I meant to say that just horizontal scrolling is the problem. I like being able to scroll through a document vertically :D

author window requires horizontal and vertical scrolling

Hi, just installed 14.2, and my editing window requires me to scroll horizontally. Also in text mode, nothing is flush left -- it sort of floats around the middle of the page. It's not happening with all my files. Just the one I'm working on :( What do I do to disable that? Is it something like word...

Re: Read-only content?

thanks sorin. I didn't think the running of count words would affect a transformation, but I was wondering why that one file has four words, just four characters, of "read only" content, where all my other files have none. It's DocBook 5, so maybe it's an Xinclude reference. Oh well, I'm s...

Re: Read-only content?

Hi Sorin, it's a single DocBook file. I'm interested in getting a word count. I have similar files and they just give me a simple word count. But one file gives me two word counts: regular content and read-only content. I wasn't aware that I had *any* read-only content. And since it's just 4 words a...

Read-only content?

When I count words on one of my documents (DocBook5) in Author, I get "regular content" count, and then a "read-only content:" which is 4 words and 4 spaces. I'm on a Mac. I changed permissions on the file so that everything was "read + write." Any ideas why I'm getting...

BTW, I'm on a Mac.

Also, works much better in Firefox. Just tried that.

Is that the workaround?

Re: Bug in Mac version: pasting HTML>Docbook

Hi, I'm getting the same problem: when I try to paste HTML into Author I get "resetting to invalid mark."

Have there been any developments since these posts a year ago?

BTW, Pasting from Chrome to Oxygen Author.

thanks!

Re: "missing cover" when creating Kindle file from epub

Hi, Jason Zech just figured it out: In the <meta name="cover". you need to remove the namespace that Oxygen puts in there. For some reason that breaks the conversion. Go into your OPF and change your meta tag to: <meta name="cover" content="cover-image"/>

Re: 14.1 not picking up XSL file

Hi, does anything jump out at you in the comparison of those two files? Using the compare feature I could see that there were some differences, but I couldn't tell which ones were significant.

Also, any suggestions on consultants who could help me manage Oxygen Author?

"missing cover" when creating Kindle file from epub

I'm using an epub generated from a Docbook transformed via ANT in Oxygen to create a .mobi file for the Amazon Kindle (using Kindle Previewer). It keeps giving me a "missing cover" warning, which is displayed over the cover image. The Kindle Previewer documentation says that the cover shou...

Re: 14.1 not picking up XSL file

Yes, this is a followup to that discussion. Sorry, I'll be sure to keep things in the same discussion. I put the custom xsl in oxygenauthor>frameworks>docbook>xsl>epub>dcdenison.xsl It's the exact same file in the same place in my 13.2 version and the 14.1 version. I didn't modify the bin/build.xml ...

14.1 not picking up XSL file

Still making the transition from 13.2 to 14.1... The ePubs I'm generating in 14.1, using the ANT transformation, aren't picking up the customizations that I have in the XSL file. It's picking up the .css file, but the customizations that are showing up in 13.2 aren't showing up in the 14.1 version. ...

transforming docbook to epub using custom transformation scenerio

Hi, still making the transition to 14.1. I have a custom transformation scenerio that I've been using to transform docbook5 to epub. It works well in 13, using ANT. It picks up the .xsl and the .css file. But when I try it in 14.1 I get a fatal error in the transformation. If I use the default "...

Attribute "xmlns:h" must be declared for element type "head".

I love the new 14.1. There's one nagging warning I'm receiving when I open an epub that I transform using DocBook Epub ANT in the archive view. E [Xerces] Attribute "xmlns:h" must be declared for element type "head". the head I have is: <head xmlns:h="http://www.w3.org/1999/...

Re: filename contains spaces

thanks. That's really helpful.

I always store all the images in a "figs" folder inside the folder that contains the .xml file. I was told that's the best practice. And that sounds like it will work in the next build.

Thanks again, appreciate the quick response!

Thanks Sorin, I can definitely wait until the next build. I'm *definitely* interested in uploading to the Apple iBookstore, so I want to comply with Epub requirements. Re: filename contains spaces

Publishing Docbook 5 I used the default DocBook Epub, which is ANT -- got that same "filename with spaces" warning. I do have some custom parameters which I tried to transfer over from my previous version, which I think was 13.2: 1. a custom CSS style sheet. 2. a custom xsl file. 3. The AN...

Re: snippets in Author?

That's close (and thanks for the quick reply!)
