Application Context Metadata

When creating custom actions for the AI Positron, a specific applicationContext parameter can be added to AI actions in a JSON action/agent definition file to provide the LLM with the following editing session details:
  • Name and version of the Oxygen application.
  • Name and version of operating system.
  • Locale language information.
  • Current date (day, month, year).
  • Project root folder.
  • List of files referenced in the Main files folder.
  • List of files opened in the DITA Maps Manager view.
  • Current file edited in the DITA Maps Manager view.
  • List of files opened in the main editor area.
  • Current file edited in the main editor area. Includes caret line/column and selection information.
  • Skills support (header information from all skills is expanded in the application context metadata).

In addition, if the currently edited document or DITA map is changed, the LLM receives information about the change.

The application context parameter needs to be defined in the JSON action/agent definition file like this:

"expand-params": [
      {
        "name": "applicationContext",
        "value": "${applicationContext}"
      }
]
