Avoid hacking: using mark-up workarounds that either break the DITA language rules or break the semantic integrity.
Do not corrupt the semantics of a topic or document to achieve a formatting outcome. This is known as tag abuse.
For example, don't use tables for formatting only. Don't use a combination of elements, such as cite within codeblock, so that custom processing rules can be set up for a particular formatting objective.
