No-one here is forcing you to use XSLT.... if you think it's too cumbersome, then you're entirely at liberty to design, develop and implement your own XML->XML language which is far better matched to your individual needs....The other is - I understand this stuff and for this genre of problem (you can put re-namespacing in the same basket) I think it's cumbersome.
