That strikes me as the hardest possible way. It's a bit like taking your car to pieces because you want to fill the tank with petrol and can't find the petrol cap.

I guess the easiest way for me to do this is to download the Saxon
source code, modify StandardURIResolver (uncomment the initial println
in resolve()), build Saxon, and use the modified jar within Cocoon.
