RE: [xsl] Advocate for C# .NET + 100% XSLT Processing

Hi Karl, Interesting you say this as my company and I have developed an XSLT Framework sitting on IIS. It uses XSLT for business logic and presentation layers and Standard database adapters that create XML for data access layers. As a Microsoft Gold Partner we have been developing solutions inside Microsoft for the last two years using the framework. Our experience is that ASP.NET is exceptionally difficult to develop UIs with as all sorts of business logic, database access and UI controls need to be developed every time a new database structure is created. We found that ASP.NET is great if you use the standard controls but requires loads of code if you need something slightly outside the scope of the standard controls e.g. calendar. I actually developed the GUI for our software with ASP.Net but could have done it a damn site faster if I had used our framework for its own user interface!!! If you fancy a scan we used our framework to develop the launch site for AutoRoute2006 launch www.route2006.com. I get it. I also get C# and .NET, and I too was a EXTREMELY heavy ASP developer ( Ref: http://www.biglist.com/lists/xsl-list/archives/200309/msg00227.html ) This is mostly a shout out, and feel free to shout back. Is there such sites dedicated to this approach? Oh, I should mention that, to qualify as a C# + 100% XSLT Processing member, you must vow to never NEVER use the .NET design UI. Strip it out! Lose the page wrapped in a FORM tag! Say goodbye to the calendar control! Besides you can write a better one with XSLT! Karl..
