you don't need to escape quotes at all as far as the regexp is
concerned, so the string used as the regexp just needs a ' and "
of course to get the them into the attribute you need to use xml quoting
on one of them (the one you use to delimit the attribute)

that's for the regex attribute which is an AVT

If you are using the regex with an Xpath function shuch as tokenize you
need to get teh regex into an Xpath string in which case you need to use
one quote (eg ") to surround the select="" attribute and teh other quote
(eg ') to surround the string argument in which case you can use "
to get a " into  the string and the new xpath2 feature '' to get a  '
into the string.
