I have had a bit of practice with xpath but any suggestions as to where i could learn more would be greatly appreciated!

Michael Kay's book "XSLT Programmer's Reference" is highly respected.

Prentice Hall has published my two books in paper form: "Definitive XSLT and XPath" and "Definitive XSL-FO", each a snapshot of a past edition of the content from which I derive our instructor-led training.

We sell PDF renditions (with site- or world-wide licenses for some and perpetual free updates for all) of the content from our web site: "Practical Transformation Using XSLT and XPath" and "Practical Formatting Using XSL-FO".

I'm scrambling to try and release the next edition of both books this week, but now it looks like next week before I will be done; owners of old editions should keep an eye out for email notices. This will be the 11th edition for the XSLT book and the 5th edition for the XSL-FO book. Also, it will be the last edition of XSLT for XSLT 1.0 ... I'll be revising the book for XSLT 2 and customers of old editions will continue to get their free revisions for the new language (something I cannot offer for the paper copies).

I hope this helps.
