...but it's something I seem to be struggling with and have not yet realized the logic of it.
And here is my XSL:
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
<xsl:template match="employee"> <i><xsl:value-of select="."/></i> </xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="para"> <b><xsl:value-of select="."/></b> </xsl:template>
Use <xsl:apply-templates/> instead of <xsl:value-of .../> It tells the processor to apply templates recursively to the nodes within the matched element rather than just getting the string value.
