Are you presuming in this example that div1, div2, and
div3 are siblings (which they aren't in TEI)? Are you
assuming that div1, div2, and div3 are in any
particular order, or that there is only one of them?
No.
Although the code can be simplified if you know you are in one of those
situations. (that is if the grouping code is in a template on say a div2
so it only needs to group on div3 children then you wouldn't need to
look for all kinds of div.
