How can I emulate tabulations in XSL ? I thought of using <fo:leaders> but this does not seem to work in the general case.

Example:

set tab : 3cm, 8cm, 12cm

Text1<tab>Text2<tab>Text3
Text1 much longer<tab>Text2b aligned with Tex2<tab>Text3b aligned with Text3.

Have you considered putting your content into table cells without turning on the borders of the cells? The reader doesn't need to know you used a table.

What strategy do you have in mind for text that overlaps the tab boundary .. using a table you have the choice of chopping off excess, wrapping excess, or overlapping the next tab stop. There is no choice of "skipping" a tab stop as would a traditional tab function.

I hope this helps.
