  • Recommended hardware configuration is dual core CPU with 2 GB of RAM.
  • The supported operating systems are Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and their corresponding server counterparts.

Notes Windows 64-bit

  • You may encounter difficulties using some third party database drivers/plugins with native libraries that do not support the 64-bit architecture. If you do, you should install and use the Windows 32-bit kit of <oXygen/>.
  • The 64-bit edition of <oXygen/> has a slightly larger memory footprint than the 32-bit edition due to the nature of the 64-bit architecture and JVM. Only use the 64-bit edition if you have plenty of RAM, work with very large files and need the ability to use the extra memory.

Requirements Windows 64-bit

  • Minimum hardware configuration is Intel/AMD 64-bit CPU with 2GB of RAM (4GB or more recommended) and 300 MB free disk space.
  • The Windows 64-bit kit of <oXygen/> can only be installed and ran on 64-bit Windows operating systems.
  • The supported operating systems are: Windows XP x64, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 64-bit, Windows 8.1 64-bit and their corresponding server counterparts.

  • Original release date: January 22, 2014
  • Build id: 2014040317   RSS
  • Build date: April 3, 2014
  • Size: 117.8MB
  • MD5

Instructions

Install

  • After downloading, extract the oxygen.zip or oxygen.tar.gz archive.
  • A new version (or maintenance build) of <oXygen/> should not be extracted to a directory where a previous version (or maintenance build) is already installed.

Run

  • To run the application double-click oXygen XML Editor or execute oxygenMac.sh from the Terminal.
  • Copy to clipboard the license key you have received by email and paste it in the license registration dialog from the application.

Uninstalling the Application

  • Backup all valuable data from the <oXygen/> folder.
  • Move to trash the <oXygen/> folder and empty the trash.

Notes

  • Supports OS X Lion (10.7), Mountain Lion (10.8) and Mavericks (10.9).
  • The compressed file is recognized by OS X's built-in archive utility (or any third party archive utility which offers ZIP support). If it is not expanded on double click, you can expand it manually using an archive utility of your choice.
  • With some fonts the cursor will behave unpredictably. It is recommended to use a fixed-size font, such as Monaco. More details can be found here.

Requirements

  • Minimum hardware configuration is Intel Mac with 1 GB of RAM (2 GB recommended) and 300 MB free disk space.
  • Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later and Java SE 6.

Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is required for Intel 32-bit Macs (early 2006).

A Java update for Mac OS X 10.5 is available at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1359

A Java update for Mac OS X 10.6 is available at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1573

A Java update for Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 is available at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572

  • If you have OS X 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9 you can use the OS X 10.7 and later download which bundles Java SE 7. In this case Java is no longer required to be installed separately. However, this distribution using Java SE 7 has proven to be unstable on some systems. If you encounter any issues, we strongly recommend downloading and using the standard distribution that uses Java SE 6.
  • If you have Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), you should check if it has Java SE 6 available before installing: Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences. If no Java SE 6 is available after installing the latest Mac OS updates, you will have to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) to be able to use the latest version of <oXygen/>. Please note that an Intel Mac is required.
  • Make sure that you have installed the Monaco or Helvetica font in the Font Manager before running <oXygen/>.
