The conformance level with which the Item is conformant.
dir restriction of xs:string optional 
The directionality of textual content.
guid xs:string required 
The persistent, universally unique identifier common for all versions of the Item.
standard xs:string required 
The IPTC standard with which the Item is conformant.
standardversion restriction of xs:string required 
The major-minor version of the IPTC standard with which the Item is conformant.
version xs:positiveInteger 1 optional 
The version of the Item.
xml:lang union of(xs:language, restriction of xs:string) optional 
Attempting to install the relevant ISO 2- and 3-letter
         codes as the enumerated possible values is probably never
         going to be a realistic possibility.  See
