Oxygen refreshes automatically (controlled by an option) resources
from the <b class="">local file system</b> when a modification is detected.
The same isn't true for remote resources (WebDAV), so they must be
manually refreshed.<br class="">
So your intuition is correct, it doesn't work for WebDAV because
there is no simple way to find out if a remote resource has been
modified.<br class="">

However, we should notify the editor of the change at least when
that change has been made in our own Diff Editor (started from
within Oxygen). I've submitted a request for this.<br class="">
<br class="">
Meanwhile, either remember to reload the file in the main editor
(File > Revert) after making changes in Diff, or just close it
and reopen it later when needed.<br class="">

I've run into this when using Diff Files on one or two files opened via a WebDAV URL. I guess the oXygen editor doesn't have a way to automatically see that the file has changed, as it would with a file open from the filesystem; but it does seem that oXygen Editor should (ideally) be made aware when changes are saved in the Diff Files tool.
