[oXygen-user] DiffCompare and Oxygen editor

Oxygen refreshes automatically (controlled by an option) resources from
the *local file system* when a modification is detected. The same isn't
true for remote resources (WebDAV), so they must be manually refreshed.
So your intuition is correct, it doesn't work for WebDAV because there
is no simple way to find out if a remote resource has been modified.

However, we should notify the editor of the change at least when that
change has been made in our own Diff Editor (started from within
Oxygen). I've submitted a request for this.

Meanwhile, either remember to reload the file in the main editor (File >
Revert) after making changes in Diff, or just close it and reopen it
later when needed.

I guess the oXygen editor doesn't have a way to automatically see that the file has changed, as it would with a file open from the filesystem; but it does seem that oXygen Editor should (ideally) be made aware when changes are saved in the Diff Files tool.

I closed and reopened the file manually in order to see the changes reflected. The editor asks if the user wants to reload the document if it’s changed in the file system, is it possible to automate and/or detect changes from Diff Files, especially considering the input file is selected from the list of documents currently open in Oxygen?
