[oXygen-user] Eth when splitting elements

hi Sorin

It's getting confusing now!

I just changed the keyboard shortcut for Split Element from Ctrl+Alt+D to Ctrl+Alt+S (first I removed this from "Schema Documentation"). Now I get the german Ringel-S (ß) instead of the "eth".

When I try to use this shortcuts in Word, I get the standard Word-behaviour (split screen and insert note). But when I try these shortcuts in Textpad, I do get the "eth" and the "ringel-S".

Probably this has something to do with my keyboard setting. Being Dutch, I use the dutch layout. And I personally like the behaviour that when I type ' followed by "e" I get the accented é. Dutch uses a lot of accents... not as many as French (hehe... 4-1! ;-)

I don't know what Word does to prevent this standard behaviour, but would it be possible to let oXygen do the same? Without changing the '+e=é?

groet
Theun

PS: Romania eh? What will tonight bring you? :-P

Hello,

Ctrl+Alt+D is the default shortcut of the XML refactoring action Split
Element. You say that the shortcut does exactly a split element action on your computer. I think the character ð was already inserted in the document. The Split Element action does not insert new characters in a text node of the XML document. If the character is inserted erroneously by Oxygen / Author please let us know how we can reproduce that.

Regards,
Sorin
