DITA: Rename/move non-topic files

[DITA Maps] - [Rename/Move resource] command is quite handy.
Could it be possible to perform the same operation on image files linked from image/@href?

Thanks, we'll consider this as a feature request for a future version.
If this would get implemented, where exactly would you see the functionality available as the image is not linked in the DITA Map? Maybe in the Project view?

Yes. In fact I sometimes wish I could rename/move the topic files in the Project view just like renaming XSLT files with the "Update references of the renamed resource" feature.

Yes, I also think that renaming resources (topics or images or whatever) in the Project view should trigger updates in other XML documents if Oxygen knows the ways in which each XML document can link to various resources. We'll try at some point to improve on this and I will update the thread when this happens.
Until then you can either go ahead, rename the image and use the "Validate and check for completeness" action in the DITA Maps Manager view to find all broken links or use our Find/Replace in Files facility to try and update all references.

Hey everyone,

I've just watched 'Webinar: Getting started with DITA using oXygen XML Editor' (which was awesome), and discovered the 'Refactoring' -> 'Move Resource' / 'Rename Resource' features. These functions are great, but I noticed it doesn't work for my images resources listed in the project view. Will this be implemented in future? Any schedule for it?

Thanks for the kind words.
We do have plans for allowing renaming of DITA resources directly from the Project view, I will try to increase the priority of the issue. In the meantime you can use our Find/Replace in Files tool for this (you can use the Preview to make sure that it makes the proper changes).

I just wanted to let you know that in the newly released oXygen 19.0 we added the DITA Master Files Support, that allows you to easily move and rename resources (including non-topic files) in the Project view, and also update the references to those resources.
