Would it be possible to develop a preference setting for whether, when opening a second file, it appears in a stacked or tiled window?

The default at the moment seems to be stacked (which could continue to be the 'on set-up' default); I think it would be helpful if the user could set a preference for this choosing from

• stack
• add tile to left
• add tile to right
• add tile above
• add tile below

Obviously once two windows are open, which may or may not match the user's selected preference, the editor should instead follow the existing pattern of stacking or tiling horizontally or vertically, (except that perhaps a setting of left/right or above/below could be respected if the existing pattern is tiled appropriately).

Hi,

In the meantime, we have in the Window menu some actions like Tile Editors Horizontally and Tile Editors Vertically which you might find useful.
