Sample Usage of <oXygen/> XML Author Component for the DITA Documentation Framework

The sample below demonstrates the integration of the <oXygen/> XML Author Component into a web application. Hybrid technologies like combining JavaScript, AJAX, and Java, can be used to create powerful front ends to Content Management Systems.

Licensing options:

  1. Named user license. Each user will have to enter a valid license key when prompted.
  2. Floating license server model. The server host and port can be set either from the java class or from the license registration dialog.

AJAX scripts from the web page can retrieve XML data like DITA maps and topics from the CMS, and marshall it to the oXygen Author applet.

Author Applet (Java)

The entire UI of the applet: toolbars, side-views, etc can be customized. The controls can be even moved to the enclosing web page, as HTML buttons enhanced with JavaScript code, like the ones below:
