Hi,

I ran your XSLT (slightly corrected for typos and missing namspace) in
oXygen 13.1 against the bundled Saxon 9.3.0.5 HE and Xalan transformers.

The output was correct in any case, but formatting the single-line XML
in oXygen normalised the double spaces into one!

Using <xsl:output method="xml" indent="yes"/> produced an XML output that
was indented (except for the root element start tag that stayed on
line 1) and had all spaces preserved.

So maybe this is an oXygen issue. Did you format the output?

HTH,

Michael

Maybe try notepad(++) or some other plain text editor to be sure

Thanks for your response.
I'm viewing the result in oxygen so I guess that's not it.

<docinfo:custom-metafield name="citation-metadata">TY -
CASE</docinfo:custom-metafield>

What I get is this:

<docinfo:custom-metafield name="citation-metadata">TY -
CASE</docinfo:custom-metafield>

Once space is missing.

Can anyone tell me why ?

Is html or a browser involved... how are you viewing the result? html collapses multiple spaces down to a single space.
