Hi Brandon, thanks for the reply. I'm trying to process several hundred files in one fell swoop. :) Some of the elements look like this: <mods:name type="personal" authority="LCNAF"> some are like this: <mods:name type="personal"> and some fit this bill: <mods:name> D: So I hoped that testing for "not(@attribute)" would help me parse the element and get me by those occasions where I don't have an attribute there at all. Is there a better way to handle this case? <- I'm sure there is, but I don't know it.
