That depends on how much hand-holding you want your editor to do for you. My preferred programmer's editor is UltraEdit. Not much hand-holding, but very fast, flexible, and configurable. It's cheap, too.

I've been using XML Stylus Studio, seems to work OK.
But you guys would know best. Recommendations?
