Sure...  but again, we're talking external processes...  If there was
no performance degradation or feature loss by chaining together
external processes then why not do this with everything... why even go
the Web Services route?  Theres trade off's for each level... e.g.
Writing an extension function that you can call from within your
stylesheet.
