Language design is an evolutionary process! xsl:for-each-group is indeed an innovation. But we cannot undermine the importance of Muenchian grouping. It has helped us for long time. Till the time XSLT 1.0 will going to be used, Muenchian grouping will be useful to everybody(I guess 2-3 years more). Though I personally wish, new stylesheets should be written in XSLT 2.0. It is an important enhancement to the language.
