I wonder if that is really feasible.  In my transforms, because I use
template elements much more than for-each, it would be really hard to pull
the logic out without also having access to the input XML.

Maybe what you really need is to tie into the trace capabilities of some of
the XSLT processors to generate exactly how the input XML triggers the
individual templates.
