Heh! We teach push first, work with it till the lights go on (no, it's not hard, just somewhat mysterious if you've never seen the like), and then watch how reluctant students are to resort to pulling....


Of course our students, and their applications, tend perhaps to be a different bunch. They are largely (though not entirely) into publishing and documentary kinds of applications, where if you can't push, you can't get to square one.
