I was reading Michael's section of worked examples, and had a question about the numbering template used in formatting the table of contents:
when using, <<count="inform-div1|div1|div2|div3|div4">>, this is apparently used to reference the ancestor elements of these tag names. but doesn't this notation denote a reference to the children elements of the current node?

the whole template was this: <xsl:template mode="number" match="*"> <xsl:number level="multiple" count="inform-div1|div1|div2|div3|div4" format="1.1 "/> </xsl:template>
