Tom,  Here is a little more information.

1) the xml source file has been updated to show where the related
information is located
2) the <doclink> can be any number of levels deep.  It could be one level
below the <item> or it could be 50 levels below it.
3) if you want it, I'd be happy to email you a short file that contains
actual source xml

But this fragment does not show where the related document information
is located.  Also, you do not say whether the nesting level may change
or whether the thing will always be nested to the same depth.  It makes
a difference!
