you could do something like the following;

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
xmlns:msxsl="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:xslt"
>
	<xsl:output method = "xml" encoding="utf-8" />

	<xsl:template match="/">
	<xsl:variable name="holdresult">
		<html>
		<head>
			<title>test</title>
		</head>
			<body>test</body>
		</html>
	</xsl:variable>

	<xsl:copy-of select="$holdresult)"/>

	</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

depending on how you want to see the source, u could use ms scripting or reapply $holdresult ( remember to use node-set e.g. in IE <xsl:apply-templates select="msxsl:node-set($holdresult)"/> ) to a series of more templates.
