[xsl] URGENT IMPORTANT CRITICAL messages to XSL-List
Subject: [xsl] URGENT IMPORTANT CRITICAL messages to XSL-List From: Mulberry Technologies List Owner <xsl-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2002 00:43:50 -0500 |
Friends -- Many of the inquiries posted on XSL-List are from people in the midst of projects who suddenly find themselves stuck. Their anxiety about their current problem, and perhaps their desire to get answers to their questions before other people's questions are answered is understandable. However, including descriptions of the importance or immediacy of the inquiry is not likely to speed responses. It does, however, increase the level of noise, both on the list and in the archive. As it happens, most requests for help on XSL-List receive responses within hours. Participants can improve the chances that they will receive prompt and helpful responses by: - asking specific enough questions that answers are possible. Describe what you are trying to do, how you approached it, what happened, and why you don't like the result you got - describe the topic of your question concisely in the subject line Good subject lines - those that describe the subject matter of your message - not only increase the chances that you will receive answers to questions or responses to comments, they also make your message and any replies to it accessible in the list archives. Thank you. -- Tommie Usdin XSL-List administrator -- ====================================================================== B.
