There is no standard way to create multiple outputs from a single
transformation using XSLT 1.0. The XSLT 1.1 WD defined a standard way
of generating multiple outputs using xsl:document, but XSLT 1.1 has
been put on hold. I imagine that you'll see this functionality in XSLT
2.0 instead.

However, several XSLT processors have an extension element that allows
you to do it (e.g. Xalan's redirect extensions, saxon:output/document,
xt:document). Alternatively, Saxon and jd.xslt both implement the XSLT
1.1 WD, so you can use xsl:document with them. Or if you're using
MSXML, then you should be able to write an extension method that saves
XML to disk (I think Chris Bayes was working on this - Chris?).

The bottom line is that you should look at the documentation of the
XSLT processor you're using to find out if and how you can generate
multiple outputs.

I hope that helps,

Jeni
