[xsl] newline white space
Subject: [xsl] newline white space From: "Lisa Rupe" <LRupe@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 19 Jul 2001 11:35:39 -0500 |
I'm having some trouble with newline white space. I fixed this once before but can't remember for the life of me how! The XML looks like this: <p>This is a para<hyphen/><lb/> graph.</p> Ideally, there would not be a <hyphen/> tag, but , but I couldn't figure out how to do that either. This is what I have in the XSLT <xsl:template match="p"> <fo:block font-size="8pt" line-height="12pt" text-align="justify" > <xsl:apply-templates/> </fo:block> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="lb"> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="preceding-sibling::*[1][name()='hyphen']"> </xsl:when> <xsl:otherwise><fo:inline><xsl:text> </xsl:text><xsl:apply-templates /></ fo:inline></xsl:otherwise> </xsl:choose> </xsl:template> Treat the <lb/> as a space unless it is preceded by a <hyphen/> then remove the hyphen and put no space between the end of the first line and the next. The output should be This is a paragraph. Is it the linefeed-treatment and space-treatment properties? I can't seem to get the right combination. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
