The problem isn't so much that you need to see O'Neill as that someone keyed it in as O′Neill (′ or ′) instead of O’Neill (’ or ’). Try translate($string, '′', '’').

How do I remove a quote in a string. Ex. I have a string in a tag like <NAME>O′Neill</NAME>
Now in the NAME template, I want to remove the quote ie (′) How do I write a translate statement to remove that ′ and replace it with a quote.
This happens because Netscape gives it to me as O′Neill, whereas I would like to see it as O'Neill.
The problem isn't so much that you need to see O'Neill as that someone keyed it in as O′Neill (′ or ′) instead of O’Neill (’ or ’). Try translate($string, '′', '’').
