Thanks for the replies. DesignerXSL must use some other engine, because xt (from Jim Clark) worked fine. MSXML3 also worked fine. I sent a bug report for the DesignerXSL people. XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
