You've got the right namespace if you're gonna use XT.
xmlns:date="http://www.jclark.com/xt/java/java.util.Date"
<xsl:value-of select="date:toString(date:new())"/>
Just look at that date.xsl file, and you'll understand. :-)

Hi, I am new to XSLT and really looking forward to diving into XSLT development world. I have the following piece of XSL file. Can anyone tell me how I can display date on a HTML output. What I am looking for is an XML input sample to make use of this XSLT file.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform" version="1.0" > <xsl:variable name="date" select="Date:to-string(Date:new())" xmlns:Date="http://www.jclark.com/xt/java/java.util.Date"/>
</xsl:stylesheet>
You've got the right namespace if you're gonna use XT.
With XT comes a package of samples. One of them is calles date.xsl I believe. That one more or less says something like:
xmlns:date="http://www.jclark.com/xt/java/java.util.Date"
<xsl:value-of select="date:toString(date:new())"/>
Just look at that date.xsl file, and you'll understand. :-)
