I was referring to XSLT 2.0. I know it's a long wait, but I suspect implementors will wait to see what the spec says rather than do something interim. Adding standalone extension functions is one thing, adding significant mechanisms is another. (Especially for implementors who, unlike me, claim to make a commitment to their users).
