Don't apologise. One of the claims I sometimes make in talks is that
even XML experts sometimes forget that there's nothing intrinsically
magic about just calling an attribute id. And people always smirk and
think, "huh, some experts!" I hope you don't mind me making a little
OHP slide out of this to use as evidence...
