I'd argue for Saxon too. It still looks as though XT is faster, according to
recent performance tests published on this list, but Saxon now performs well
too, and on top of that it's much more conformant than XT, and offers more
extensions if you would want to use those. Also, Saxon is still being
developed, while James Clark has announced that he doesn't expect to further
develop XT (although other people might, see http://www.4xt.org).
