Yes, changing the DTD is a solution, unless you don't control the DTD, like in our case since we use W3 Voyager. Current Voyager dl definition: <!ELEMENT dl (dt|dd)+> becomes: <!ELEMENT dl (ditem)+> <!ELEMENT ditem (dt, dd+)> Yes, multiple dd paragrpahs but one dt. Should I send this as a suggestion to the Voyager team? But I agree with James Clark that we need a solution in XSL to adress grouping and add as sibling issues.
