Parenthesized prefix syntax has been fighting mixfix since long before the
1970s. There is no sense in which mixfix is the 'old, bad stuff' and
parenthesized prefix is the 'new, good stuff.' They are both old and their
relative goodness is entirely in the eyes of the beholder.
