Sure. Nothing I said suggests REST doesn't work. It does.
Nothing about REST suggests that it is the total solution
for all messaging systems development, for example, systems
that don't bind to HTTP. I do expect many systems will.
There are systems that will need more than the average
security features and some will use other protocols and
even other encodings.

The ebXML Registry is using http-binding (aka REST) interfacing that
people may
find instructive to review, and especially the use of security and
digital certificate
management in tandem with registry.
